Cabins and Features
Idlewilde by the River, located in Estes Park, Colorado near Rocky Mountain National Park, offers cabins along the Big Thompson River. Cabins feature a fully functional kitchen with coffee makers, salt, pepper, dish soap, and trash bags, as well as a smart TV to stream your favorite apps. Guests can request hair dryers, iron/ironing boards, blenders and hand mixers. Bedding is provided, including extra pillows and blankets. Cabins by the river book fast.
Cabin Types
The resort offers a variety of cabin types. Naughty Pine is a 2-story cabin with 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and a stone fireplace. Aloha is a 2-bedroom cabin designed for up to 4 people. Rivers Edge (Ataloa) is a 1-bedroom cabin inches from the water. Hummingbird has a separate living room and 2 bedrooms, accommodating up to 6 people. Cannon Ball is a 2-bedroom cabin 65 feet from the river. Pine Rest is a 2-bedroom cabin with a courtyard. Riverside is a 1-bedroom cabin on the river's edge. Pine Cone is a smaller 1-bedroom cabin. Holiday is a larger 1-bedroom cabin adjacent to the riverside courtyard. Shemara and We Four are located directly on the river's edge and have 2 bedrooms.
Outdoor Amenities
Each cabin has access to outdoor amenities including picnic tables, barbecue grills, and outdoor chairs. Excellent trout fishing is available within the property boundaries (4 limit per day, 8 in possession) with a Colorado State fishing license. Riverside has picnic tables, barbecue grills, and outdoor chairs right outside the door. Hummingbird is near the pavilion, hot tub, office, and horseshoe pit. There is a fire pit in the meadow, but firewood is not provided (available at a nearby gas station/market).

Located near Rocky Mountain National Park (1.2 miles to the entrance), Idlewilde by the River provides opportunities for hiking, camping, rock climbing, fishing, and sightseeing. Denver International Airport is 100 km away. Nearby landmarks include Tiny Town Miniature Golf (3 km), Rocky Mountain Conservancy (1 km), and Alberta Falls (2 km).
Additional Information
Guests may see wildlife such as deer, elk, chipmunks, and hummingbirds. Changes to the length of stay must be made at least thirty days in advance. The property provides solitude and a hot tub for relaxation. There is a coin laundry about a mile away in The Country Market shopping center.
