Arrowhead Mountain Lodge has 13 rooms on the second floor: 6 standard king rooms, 4 standard 2-double or 2-queen rooms, a deluxe king room, a suite with a king bed, and an ADA-compliant room on the first floor. Four Season Activities
Arrowhead Mountain Lodge is near Uncompahgre National Forest. Guests can fish, hike, dirt bike, mountain bike, off-road, view nature, hunt, snowmobile, snowshoe, and cross-country ski. The lodge hosts year-round events, such as free live music, dinner pairings, and wine tastings. During the summer, live music is featured every Saturday from Memorial Day Weekend to Labor Day Weekend. A trail system offers opportunities to explore the Alpine Plateau with an ATV, Side-by-Side, or any 4x4 vehicle. Winter activities include snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, back-country skiing, snowmobiling, snow biking, and sledding. Guests can rent new Polaris snowmobiles or side-by-sides. The lodge is located near Black Canyon National Park and Curecanti National Recreation Area.
Location & Access
Arrowhead Mountain Lodge is located off Highway 50, halfway between Gunnison and Montrose. The turnoff is between mile markers 123 and 124, indicated by a blue signpost for 'Arrowhead Lodge' and a brown 'Alpine Plateau' sign. The lodge is 65 km from Montrose Regional Airport. The road to the AML is a 5.5-mile dirt road. The County treats The Alpine with a bio-chemical that sets-up the dirt road almost like concrete. Most 4x4 or AWD vehicles have little to no problems navigating the Alpine winter road; snow tires or chains are recommended from late October to mid-May.
Additional Information
Arrowhead Mountain Lodge is located at an elevation of 9,500 ft. Housing is included as part of employment compensation, offering staff their own room in a 4-bedroom house with 2 bathrooms, about a mile and a half from the workplace. Non-Management Kitchen staff receive tips from the Tip pool.
